Charge

Charge is not a card Keyword — it is a combat action available during the Warfare Phase.

The player Leading in Morale may declare a Charge once per turn during the Warfare Phase. Declaring a Charge initiates Combat Resolution for all eligible adjacent Troops.

See the Warfare Phase for full rules on declaring and resolving a Charge.

Choosing Not to Charge

Declining is a real option, not a pass. A player Leading in Morale who does not Charge gains Local Favor — either +2 card draw next Muster Phase, or a 2-point reduction to a Territory Threshold.

Since the Threshold is what forces an Attrition Victory, declining to Charge is how you buy time when you are behind on the board.

Note

Some cards interact with Charges directly — Burrow lets a Burrowed Troop un-Burrow and declare a Charge regardless of who is Leading in Morale, and Concealed protects a Troop only against a Charge it did not declare.
