Paw Coalition¶
A coalition of forces united against the Claw Empire — think of the coalitions against Napoleon, or the American Militia during the War of Independence. Ragtag, resourceful, and fighting for their freedom.
Playstyle¶
The Paw Coalition relies on guerrilla tactics, concealment, and sheer numbers. Their Partizan fighters use Burrow to strike from unexpected positions and Ambush Gambits to disrupt opponents, while Raise Up keeps the militia coming back no matter how many fall.
Faction Ability — Rebel / Rabble¶
The Paw Coalition's army ability is a double-sided token. It starts the game on its Rabble side and flips back and forth as the war turns.
Un-provisioned Coalition Troops are Shocked — they flee the battlefield during the Attrition Phase, even if unwounded.
Flip to Rebel: play 3 Coalition Troops in a single turn.
Coalition Troops gain +1 Morale.
Flip back to Rabble: if 2 or more Coalition Troops are destroyed in a single Charge.
The Rebel/Rabble cycle is the faction's whole tempo. On Rabble you are fragile and cannot afford to overextend your Provisions; the way out is to commit bodies to the board. Once on Rebel the extra Morale helps you hold the initiative — until a single bad Charge costs you two Troops and knocks you straight back down.
Ambush Gambits¶
Gambits unique to the Paw Coalition, often played face-down in a player's Homeland. They have strong instant abilities that disrupt your opponent's plans at unexpected moments.
Pike Buff¶
Paw Coalition Gambits and abilities buff Pike Troops with increased movement and Morale. See Pike Buffs by Faction.

Local Favor is no longer Paw-exclusive
Local Favor is now an evergreen ability available to every faction: any player Leading in Morale who declines to Charge gains it.
See The Pike Triangle for how Pike, Shotte, and Cavalry counter each other.
