Pike and Claw¶
Pike and Claw is a 2–4 player Deckbuilding Card Battler with an emphasis on area control and resource management, with collectible elements. Choose your Faction, Muster your Army, and Control the Woodland!
Setting¶
A gritty Redwall/Root-styled world called Erda, set in a Napoleonic and Pike and Shotte inspired era. Two powers contest the territories: the regimented Claw Empire, which rules by fealty and submission and seeks total control of the woodlands, and the motley Paw Coalition, which stands between the Empire and the free warrens.
The Claw Empire rules with an iron nail. Many have fallen. Will skirmishes and squabbles lead to ruin for all?
Two further rosters sell or grow their own way through the war: The Weald, the woodland itself, and the Hirelings, who serve either side for coin.
How to Win¶
The game runs a series of turns until one player achieves:
- Supremacy Victory — Control every Territory card in play and lead in Morale
- Attrition Victory — A Territory Threshold stays met for two consecutive turns; the player controlling the most sides wins
- Objective Victory (advanced) — Complete a set of Objective cards
The Turn¶
Each turn runs through four phases, and the player Leading in Morale acts first in every one:
- Morale Check — Determine who leads
- Muster Phase — Draw, Forage, play cards, move
- Warfare Phase — Shotte, then Charge
- Attrition Phase — Recover, pay Provisions, check the win
